I’m a microscopic endodontist and restorative dentist with 15 years of experience. I have a master degree (MSc with Distinction) in Endodontics from the world leading King’s College London, UK. My BDS is from College of Dentistry/University of Baghdad, Iraq in 2008.

I am a certified Gold member of the famous Style Italiano Endodontics group. I am a Key opinion leader (KOL) and International speaker of Fanta Dental, and participated in the invention of the famous unique flat-side Endodontic files (F One files selection by SIE). I’m also a co-author of the RETREATMENTS book along with famous world wide authors and clinicians. Academically, I am in the teaching staff of the Diploma of Endodontics program at Jaumi I Universitat, Spain.

I have conducted many workshops and lectures both locally and internationally either private courses or international conferences in Europe and in the Middle East.

My work is committed to microscopic dentistry especially Endodontics; dealing with the most complicated primary and secondary root canal treatment, restoration of endodontically treated teeth (ETT), Micro-Endodontic surgery, and smile makeover; as I am a certified DSD member.

 

Mastering root canal preparation: How to deal with difficult scenarios

This is a comprehensive workshop designed to enhance the skills and knowledge of general dental practitioners for mastering root canal preparation, which is a crucial step in successful root canal treatment. This workshop focuses on the critical aspect of root canal preparation of different scenarios that we may face in our daily practice, including complications, difficulties, and re-treatment cases.

The following topics will be discussed with the participants:

  • Understanding the complex anatomy of root canal system.
  • Chemo-mechanical debridement: Three dimensional concept of root canal preparation.
  • Stainless steel files VS Nickel-Titanium files: characteristics, limitations, and proper use.
  • Size VS Taper of endodontic instruments.
  • Safe pathway to the apex.
  • Working length determination: How and where to stop?
  • Rotary VS reciprocation: Pros and Cons.
  • Why file separation happens? how to minimise the chance of happening?
  • What is the last file to be used?
  • Effect of activation in root canal preparation.
  • Iatrogenic complications: How they happen? how to deal with? and how to avoid?

During the workshop, participants will practice on:

  • Manual VS mechanical negotiation of the canal.
  • Crown-down preparation of the canal.
  • Root canal Re-treatment at its easiest way.
  • Dealing with ledges and finishing root canal preparation safely.

By the end of this workshop, participants will have a thorough combination of theoretical sessions, hands-on exercises, and case discussions. Participants will have the opportunity to expand their understanding of root canal anatomy, gain proficiency in the use of modern endodontic instruments, and refine their technique for achieving optimal cleaning and shaping of the root canal system.
